against the united states. heather joins us live with more. >> reporter: good morning to you. these are the startling findings in a new report that has just been released. the 74-page report says 141 major hacking attempts have been traced back to a secret group that is linked back to the china's military. the organizations include energy arrow space companies and also itel communications firm, blueprints and other sensitive documents were stolen from those companies. they say the hacking goes back to 2006. now there is also reportedly a memo from a chinese telecommunications company that admits it provided links for the sole purpose of hacking. the wall street times says they were hacked but china had is s denying the report and denying the alleged fact that it's military has any involvement with the hacking. both democrats and republicans in washington are now demanding more action on this. they say that china's hackers pose a huge national security risk. they say they released the report because it's time to acknowledge the serious threat that is posed by china and to help

to use that as a bargaining chip again. we saw how damaging bringing into question the credit worthyness of the government. the fight should not be should we pay the bill? >> there is an interesting question about in retrospect if republicans leveraging the debt limit to get a bill that cut spending by $1 to $2 trillion going forward whether that was worth it? they introduced liquidity risk. if you don't cut spending we're not going to vote for a debt limit increase. it worked. the president agreed to cut the spending by a significant amount. now, would you like that negotiation had resulted from not having made that threat? absolutely. but do you think it would have occurred? there's the difference. i would never be one to advocate that congress should not increase the debt limit. they should. when this came up in the summer of 2011 i wrote that and they put that in the pages of "the initial review." i was arguing against those who say let's look and creating a cash crunch. that is the wrong thing to do. congress has the ability to decide what they want to attach to the legislation. tha

of snow in some places. meteorologist karen mcginnis is tracking the storm for us. karen, this is too much. i mean, three weekends in a row. >> it is too much. and folks in boston know this all too well because already this month they've seen 32 inches of snow this month alone. there's going to be a few more inches probably piled up on top of that. but the record was set back ten years ago, 2003. and they saw more than 41 inches in just one month. this area of low pressure, it begins to develop off the mid-atlantic coast. starts to pull away from the coast of the northeast. but on the back side of this, still enough cold air, still enough moisture to produce probably what will be two to four additional inches of snow/ice. probably because the local forecasters in boston and even some of the more global reports are indicating we could see maybe a couple of inches, could be ten inches. but overall, we're narrowing it down to between two and forecast possibly some areas to the west and to the north could see considerably more than that. into interior new england, that's where we'll expect the
